MySQL

Based on the Linux operating system, MySQL is a multi-user, multi-threaded SQL Database Server available on Basic B package or higher. SQL (Structured Query Language) is a standardized database language that simplifies storing, updating and accessing information, such as customer or product data. Its flexibility and speed allow you to also store logs and pictures. MySQL is designed to scale well under heavy traffic conditions and is ideal for database-intensive or e-commerce-enabled Web sites.

You can have a mySQL database setup on the server for implementation into your account. mySQL database can be maintained completely through Onalaska Web control panel or through PHP programming.

Onalaska Web does now allow telnet access, We use PhpMyAdmin, which allows users access to their database via their browser.

Using Admin Control Panel , select the domain you wish to create the database, select the database" button, enter the name of the database you wish to create - click add, next enter the username and password to access the database - click update.- thats it!

To create/view/delete/modify tables, click the the database button, then the PhpMyAdmin button . or use your PHP scripts.

As mentioned above, mySQL is included in the Basic B and above plans. If you have a lesser UNIX-based plan you will need to e-mail support@onahosting.com and you will have to upgrade your account - Onalaska Web doesn't assist in the any creation of the internal database information or any of the contents of database(s) we created.
